កាលពីព្រេងនាយមានប្ដីប្រពន្ធកសិករពីរនាក់មានមេមាន់មួយ ។ មេមាន់នោះពងចេញស៊ុតមាសមួយដុំរាល់ថ្ងៃធ្វើឲ្យបុរសកំសត់នោះបានធូរធារជាងមុន ។ ប៉ុន្ដែដោយភាពលោភលន់ប្ដីប្រពន្ធមួយគូនោះ មានគំនិតថា “មាន់នេះពងមួយថ្ងៃមួយដុំៗ ពេលណាបានយើងមានទ្រព្យសម្បត្ដិនិងគេ មានមាសច្រើនណាស់នៅក្នុងមាន់នេះទោះសម្លាប់វាទៅ យើងនឹងមានស៊ុតមាសទាំងអស់នោះ” ។
“នោះជាគំនិតដ៏ល្អ” បុរសជាប្ដីនិយាយ ហើយក៏បានយកកាំបិតទៅសម្លាប់មាន់ តែគ្មានស៊ុតមាសអ្វីទាល់តែសោះនៅក្នុងមេមាន់នោះ ។ ចាប់ពីថ្ងៃនោះមកមាសដែលមាន់ពងឲ្យក៏ក្លាយជាដុំថ្ម ក្រោយមកអ្នកល្មោភទាំងពីរនាក់ក៏ធ្លាក់ខ្លួនឈឺ ហើយបានស្លាប់ដោយសារតែការអត់ឃ្លានទៅហោង ។

- ការធ្វើអ្វីមួយដោយលោភលន់ហួសហេតុមិនពិចារណាឲ្យដិតដល់នាំឲ្យមានវិប្បដិសារី ។

The Golden Eggs
A farmer and his wife once had a hen. Every day it gives them a golden egg. Slowly, the farmer and wife became richer and richer. But, because of greed, they had an idea “Every day, this hen gives a golden egg, and when will we become rich? Let’s kill it now and then we can have all the golden eggs.” “That’s a good idea!” said the farmer and picked up his knife and killed the hen, but there were on golden eggs in the hen. From that day on, all the gold eggs which the hen laid became rock. Afterward, both of them had diseases and lost their lives to starvation.

- Being greedy in doing something without consideration results in regret.
